DELF - DALF EXAMINATIONS

The Alliance Française des Bahamas is the only exam centre for the French-government accredited and internationally recognized DELF and DALF diplomas in The Bahamas.

What are the DELF and DALF diplomas?

The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language.

DELF and DALF are composed of 6 diplomas that have been harmonized with the European standards corresponding to the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages since Sept. 1st, 2005.

At each level, 4 skills are evaluated: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

A junior version of the DELF also exists for junior and high school students.

The Alliance Française des Bahamas proposes this exam as well.

For detailed information about each level of these diplomas, visit the website of CIEP (Centre International d'Études Pédagogiques) by clicking here.

Who can take the diplomas?

Anyone who is not a native French-speaker and who would like his/her French skills to be recognized for personal or professional purposes can take the exams.

These diplomas are also recognized by some French universities and Grandes Écoles as meeting French language requirements for entry.

What diplomas should I take?

The 6 DELF and DALF diplomas are independent from one another, so you can take the examination of your choice. You can also sit the examination for a number of diplomas during the same examination session if scheduling permits.

How do I prepare for the exam?

Preparation courses for the DELF and DALF are available at the Alliance Française des Bahamas upon request within the limits of availability. Contact us to find out!
